Summary

  • DOTA 2 launches Aghanim’s Labyrinth for Summer Event
  • Trailer for Little Witch in the Woods released
  • FINAL FANTASY IX 20th Anniversary Special Interview Vol. 2 available
  • Ghost of Tsushima is out today with solid reviews across the board

I’m currently working my way through Day of the Tentacle Remastered, which I picked up during the last Steam sale. It’s a great reminder of that time in the ’90s when adventure games were all the rage.

DOTA 2 launches Aghanim’s Labyrinth for Summer Event

As a League of Legends player, every time DOTA does an event, I get incredibly jealous. They’re always well-designed and the Battle Passes that release alongside them are always filled with a ton of cool stuff.

Aghanim’s Labyrinth is this year’s Summer Event and is a four-player co-op roguelike game where you choose the monsters that you want to take on, and collect shards to upgrade your character’s abilities.

Trailer for Little Witch in the Woods released

A charming pixel art-styled game by South Korean developer Sunny Side Up caught my eye today. Called Little Witch in the Woods, it’s a whimsical take on being a witch complete with searching for ingredients and brewing potions (among other things). Everything’s in Korean, so there’s no complete guarantee that there’ll be a Western release, but keep this one on your radar.

FINAL FANTASY IX 20th Anniversary Special Interview Vol. 2 available

Square Enix has released its second Special Interview for the FFIX 20th Anniversary. Today’s interview is with Toshiyuki Itahana, character designer and game artist and yields a couple of tidbits like his favorite character (Zidane), favorite mini-game (Tetra Master), and favorite song (Quina’s Theme).

Ghost of Tsushima is out today with solid reviews across the board

And just like that, today is Ghost of Tsushima‘s release day. Review scores are looking good, with the Sucker Punch-developed title getting an 84 Metascore on review aggregator Metacritic.

Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world action game set on the island of Tsushima, Japan that has you fighting as a lone samurai against hordes of Mongol invaders. It makes me think that this is the kind of game you’d get if you fused together The Witcher and Sekiro.
