  • Five games coming to Stadia Pro in August, along with 4G/5G opt-in testing

In recent Big Meanie Games news, I’m thinking of switching the site to a light/white background style rather than what we have now.

Cuphead heads to PlayStation 4 today in surprise announcement

Studio MDHR announced today that Cuphead is now available on PS4, three years after its Windows/Xbox debut. If you’ve never heard of Cuphead, nor played it, then you’re in for a treat one of the most frustrating run ‘n gun games in existence. That’s in the best way possible.

Microids…it just doesn’t roll off the tongue quite right

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (the video game) is back

More than twenty years after John Carpenter brashly became the first champion on the hit TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (I was watching), Microids is releasing a new multiplayer video game based on the franchise.

It’s slated for release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 29 in EU and November 17 in the USA.

Phantasy Star Online 2 gets August 5 release date on Steam

You can now find SEGA’s Phantasy Star Online 2 in its new habitat on Steam. The free-to-play multiplayer action RPG (originally released on Dreamcast twenty years ago, what’s with these throwbacks today?) will arrive on August 5.

I’ll be honest, I’m still not quite sure what the difference is between Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Online.

Five games coming to Stadia Pro in August along with 4G/5G opt-in testing

Google’s Stadia team is bringing five new free-to-claim games to the platform in August:

  • Strange Brigade (8/1)
  • Kona (8/1)
  • Metro 2033 Redux (8/1)
  • Just Shapes & Beats (8/1)
  • Rock of Ages III (8/14)

But the bigger news is that Stadia owners can opt-in to a new Experiment that allows you to play over 4G/5G cellular data. More info here.
