So what’s going in Big Meanie Land? I’m actually completely stuck in Day of the Tentacle and writing this up in an attempt to gain some inspiration…

Google Play Pass update adds new $29.99 per year option

Google’s version of the Apple Arcade – a monthly subscription service for access to a library of ad-free games and apps – now has a yearly subcription option, available for $29.99. That’s not bad, considering the current monthly fee of $4.99.

There were some new titles announced for Play Pass, such as Sonic the Hedgehog Classic, Cytus II, and The Almost Gone.

The annoying thing is you can’t easily see a list of the entire library without scrolling through a bunch of different menus on the Play store. Bleh.

Paper Mario: The Origami King available tomorrow, early reviews are stellar

The next game in Nintendo’s Paper Mario saga, The Origami King, releases tomorrow on the Switch console. Currently the game stands at a score of 81 among critics on Metacritic.

The latest Paper Mario brings a new ring-based battle system where you can move bad guys around a circular sliding board to get advantageous positioning for attacks. It’ll debut on the Nintendo Switch for $59.99.

PS5…or Spaceship?

Sony aiming to manufacture 10 million PS5 consoles

Bloomberg reports that Sony plans to manufacture 10 million PlayStation 5 consoles this year. That’s twice as many consoles as the company expected to originally manufacture, and the decision comes as the coronavirus boosts gaming demand.

Not much to say here other than…is the PS5 a console? Or a spaceship?

Microsoft ends production of Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition

On the other side of the pond, Microsoft announced that they would discontinue production of the Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition as the company prepares for the launch of the Xbox Series X, its next-generation console.
