Final Fantasy VII Remake survey: 92.6% of people surveyed satisfied with game, among other gems

Well, I guess I’m the 4.3%: the results of Famitsu’s Final Fantasy VII Remake survey have been released, and it turns out 92.6% of players surveyed were satisfied with the game, while 4.3% were unsatisfied (call me the latter for now). Other tidbits:

  • Most popular characters for battle: Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret
  • 31.1% of players surveyed played for 40-6 hours
  • 55.2% of players surveyed found the game balance to be just right
  • Enemy that left the biggest impression: Hell House (I freakin’ hated this boss)
  • Favorite characters: Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Jessie (???), Barret, Sephiroth

E3@Home/Xbox Games Showcase brings Halo Infinite, Fable, Psychonauts 2

Today was the Xbox Games Showcase event hosted by Geoff Keighley. Among the bigger announcements were Halo Infinite (of course), Fable and Psychonauts 2.

The Halo Infinite “trailer” was actually 8 minutes of gameplay through the campaign mode:

I can’t say I was hugely impressed, though I’ve only played the original Halo. The environments looked good, sure, but the gunplay felt underwhelming/unimpactful and everything just seemed so…shiny. Interestingly enough, Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries mentioned that Infinite was meant to be a platform for future games.

New free games this week on the Epic Games Store include Next Up Hero and Tacoma

The Epic Games Store is back to the grind…of giving out free stuff. In this week’s update, it’s isometric dungeon crawler Next Up Hero and first-person adventure game Tacoma.

Tetris Effect: Connected is the multiplayer expansion that also brings 4k and exclusivity

Coming in Holiday 2020, Tetris Effect: Connected is supposed to be the “ultimate incarnation” of Tetris Effect and includes a new multiplayer expansion with several co-op and battle modes. While Connected will be a free content update in Summer 2021, until then it’ll be exclusive to the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows 10.

That reminds me, I still need to play the VR version of Tetris Effect. When’s this game coming out on Steam???
